I must admit I had completely lost without the growing number of desktop and notebook computers, printers, digital cameras and other electronic equipment from all others in my home and home office. I know who once lived without all this, but was back in ancient times in the last millennium. Today absolutely depend on it. What this means is that buying a lot, and I have formed strong opinions about where I can do my shopping and what places I avoid like the plague. I hate to say, but the number 1 on my list of places to avoid are the big chain electronics stores. They are certainly practices and their prices are usually at the stadium. And all their glossy brochures took me more than once when I quickly needed some RAM, disk or news inkjet printer. The problem is that their sales staff are miserable Clueless and often only interested in selling extended service contracts. No thanks. When I build a new computer that occasionally buy parts from a local electronics store. These places are a haven for geek, or could be, if not for a couple of really annoying deal breakers. First, half of the boards do not work after I get home. And secondly, I refuse to buy things that are good business only after a mail-in rebate or two. I’ve been burned too many times to the offer. No more. Office supplies store are storing more and more electronic equipment. So when I go to buy a ream of paper or other small things that often end up staring at their laptops and digital cameras. And once we even bought a laptop, something he regretted later because there was, of course, no service or support. In fact, as the office supply store and have no problem buying things like laser printer cartridges, but that’s it for computer stuff. I like being able to browse online stores in my spare time, without selling pressure, and generally all the information I need. I do not need comments “useless” by the people who always seem to have a personal interest or hate it. And I did not need long lists of the 99 lowest prices anywhere. All I want is information and a good choice. I expect a certain level of customer support if I have questions, and most of the best online stores can easily handle. Having someone told me there are 10 or 15 years that one day buy things like laptops, digital cameras, printers or desktop computers online from some website far away, ri. But that’s where I have most of my electronics and these days, and rarely had a bad experience. These online stores seem to be trying a little harder, and that’s good news for guys like me.
